FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) is a national student organization that helps women and men become strong leaders in their families, careers, and communities and provides personal growth, leadership development, and career preparation opportunities for students in Family and Consumer Sciences education (FACS). Any student who has taken or is taking a Family and Consumer Sciences course and is in grades 9-12 is eligible to join anytime throughout the year with the form provided below. Through FCCLA members can discover the unlimited possibilities within your reach as you explore career opportunities, develop leadership skills, and grow personally while making a difference in your family and community. With FCCLA, there’s unlimited options – unlimited possibilities!

Members can expect the following advantages to membership: opportunities to serve the local school and community through service learning, community service, and National Programs, participation in intensive leadership development, subscription to Teen Times, eligibility for scholarships from Nebraska and National FCCLA, opportunities to serve in leadership roles across multiple levels of the organization, and eligibility for the CTE Presidential Scholars program.

INTERESTED IN BECOMING A CHAPTER OFFICER?

If you were a previous member of FCCLA and are interested in becoming more involved in our chapter you can apply to be an officer for the upcoming year. Chapter officers are required to be cooperative and dependable, understand and communicate the mission and purposes of FCCLA, be respectful and open-minded, attend and participate in all chapter meetings, be organized and on time, and follow through with the responsibilities of the office elected.

INTERESTED IN BECOMING A NEBRASKA STATE OFFICER?

One opportunity that members can take advantage of is running for a position on the State Officer Team.  Members of the State Officer Team are the representatives of the organization at official events, provide leadership for state programs and initiatives, provide presentations to current FCCLA chapters and districts, advocate for FCCLA, FACS, and CTE, and work to educate others about FCCLA while expanding the reach of FCCLA.
