December Newsletter

FCCLA has been very busy during the holidays. Members are working very hard on their STAR projects. Many members have chosen to do a project after the success Kearney High had last year. District STAR will be held on January 18 at UNK, and students will compete against other FCCLA members from the district.

FCCLA has also been selling candy cane grams to fundraise. Candy Cane grams are candy canes students can buy and send to their friends with a handwritten note on them. The grams cost one dollar each and will be delivered to students before Christmas break.

December is drunk and drugged driving awareness month so, FCCLA has also partnered with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), in order to raise awareness about the dangers of drugged and drunk driving. FCCLA officers gave presentations to three different family and consumer sciences, to help prevent drunk driving in the community.
